Recently, SUSTech Associate Professor Xugang Guo’s group from the Department of Material Sciences and Engineering published their latest research results on ladder-type n-channel organic semiconductors (OSCs) in Angewandte Chemie International Edition, a top international journal in the field of chemistry (IF=11.994).

Recently, DJI hosted the 16th national robotics contest RoboMasters2017 for the Southern Division held in the gymnasium of the Guangzhou South China University of Technology. The event was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Youth League, the National Robotics Federation and the Shenzhen Municipal People's government.

On June 30th 2017, at 8:30 am, SUSTech’s 2017 Commencement Ceremony took place on the grand lawn next to the library. Chairperson of the University Council Guo Yurong, President Chen Shiyi, Honored Guest and President of Baidu Zhang Yaqin, former University Council Chairperson Li Ming, University senior management, academic committee, academic evaluation members, business representatives, university patrons and well-known local entrepreneurs, Head of departments, 2017 graduates and their tutors, as well as current students and parents all attended the ceremony which was overseen by SUSTech Vice President and Dean of Graduate School Tang Tao.

On the evening of June 30th 2017, the Grand Lawns of SUSTech’s library were shining and sparkling as the 2017 Graduation Party took place. SUSTech’s Chairperson Guo Yurong, AssociateVice-President Lu Chun, the 2017 graduates, undergraduate students and faculty were all among the audience to enjoy the show.

Recently, Prof. Yongye Liang’s research group has developed a multiscale structure-engineering approach to construct new hybrid electrocatalysts for water splitting with high performance. This work has been recently published in the journal “Advanced Functional Materials” entitled “Iron-Doped Cobalt Monophosphide Nanosheet/Carbon Nanotube Hybrids as Active and Stable Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting”.

Recently, Dr. Guixin Li from Department of Materials Science and Engineering, SUSTech and his collaborators from UK and Germany published a review paper in Nature Reviews Materials. Li, G., Zhang, S. & Zentgraf, T. Nonlinear photonic metasurfaces. Nat. Rev. Mater. 2, 17010 (2017).

Prof. Yongye Liang’s research group has developedhighly selective and active electrocatalysts for carbon dioxide reduction.This work has been recently published in the journal “Nature Communications” entitled “Highly Selective and Active CO2 Reduction Electrocatalysts Based on Cobalt Phthalocyanine/Carbon Nanotube Hybrid Structures”

Prof. Yongye Liang’s research group has developed advanced molecular fluorophores with enhanced quantum yield for bioimaging in the second near infrared (NIR-II) window and made highly pure fluorophore-antibody conjugates for 3D staining.

Recently, the research team lead by Prof. Zhouguang Lu from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of SUSTech, published research paper entitled “Highly Durable Organic Electrode for Sodium-Ion Batteries via a Stabilized α-C Radical Intermediate” on Nature Communications Online, and proposed a novel concept that improve the electrode stability of organic polymer through radical group.

On the afternoon of October 29, 2016, 17 undergraduates of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), class of 2013, signed contracts with Huawei. Majoring in physics, electrical and electronic engineering and computer sciences and engineering, etc., they will graduate next year.
