Chengdu was the host city for the National Public Entrepreneurship Innovation Week from October 9 to 15. The afternoon of October 11thsaw the announcement of the First "Creative Technologies" Disruptive Innovation List jointly. This national list was sponsored by 13 enterprises and institutions including Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, and Xinhuanet.
Associate Professor Sun Dazhao from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering saw his research group get recognized for their "Advanced Nano Lubrication Materials" industrialization project and was consequently ranked in the Top 50 of the “2018 Disruptive Innovation Awards.” The project stood out from more than 2000 other projects, through three rounds of expert review.
The advanced nano-lubricating material technology chaired by Sun Dazhao uses the original structure of nano-composite lubricating and wear-resistant materials, with a new lubricating and wear-resistant mechanism. This has the potential to be an industry leading development that can significantly improve the wear-resistant effect of lubricating products and dispersion.
More than 10 patents have been applied for off the back of this self-developed technology. 4 Chinese patents have been granted. The PCT international patent examinations have all passed for their one-time, novelty, creativity and technical applicability tests, so they have entered the US patent application stage.
Advanced nano-lubricating material technology has been industrialized in 2017 by Beijing Collaborative Innovation Research Institute, Peking University Baotou Innovation Research Institute, Shenzhen Nanke New Material Technology Co., Ltd., and Baotou Synergy Nano New Material Technology Co., Ltd.
