Professor Lu Zhouguang from the Department of Materials Science at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has been elected as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).
Founded in 1841, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is the world’s oldest academic chemistry group and one of the most influential international academic institutions. Every year, the Society nominates scientists who have made outstanding achievements, contributions, and developments in chemical science research across the world and selected them as Fellows.
Professor Lu Zhouguang is from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and a Fulbright scholar. He was selected as a high-level B-class talent in the Shenzhen Peacock Plan and is a deputy director of the Shenzhen Hydrogen Key Laboratory.
His research mainly covers the design and synthesis of nanostructures and their application in energy storage and conversion with focus on lithium/sodium ion batteries, lithium-air batteries, and supercapacitors.
In 2012, more than 80 SCI papers were published in world-leading academic journals such as Natural Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Advanced Functional Materials by SUSTech. Among the published papers, he was the corresponding author of more than 50 papers. His papers have been cited for a record of more than 4,000 times, with high-frequency h-indexes number of 38. He has been invited to give more than 20 reports at important academic conferences at home and abroad. Prof. Lu Zhouguang has applied for and had more than 10 national invention patents authorized. He has also presided over or undertaken 6 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects with total funding of more than 6 million RMB.
In 2017, Prof. Lu Zhouguang received the 2017 SUSTech Excellence in Research Award and the 2016 Youth Research Award. He is an expert in the 13th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Guangdong Province as well as the Shenzhen Science and Technology Creation Commission. He has been a long-time reviewer of famous academic journals such as Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition and Advanced Materials. He is currently the editor of Scientific Reports and other journals, deputy secretary-general of China Energy Storage and Power Battery, and director of Guangdong Lithium-ion Power and Storage Battery Advanced Manufacturing Industry Technology Innovation Alliance.
